Hospice of St. Francis Corporate Partner

Hospice of St. Francis

“The Hospice of St Francis is a charity which helps approximately 2,000 local people and their families a year, to live their precious lives well. Improving symptoms, achieving personal goals, and helping them to feel safe. All services are free to those that need them and include but are not limited to a stay in our IPU, home care, bereavement care and child support services.

As costs are rising and hospice care nationwide is suffering a funding crisis, we alone must raise £6 million pounds a year to keep the hospice open, that’s 1million pounds more per year than 5 years ago, so you can appreciate why forming mutually beneficial relationships with the local community is so important.

“We’re incredibly thankful to have such a well-established high-street business as part of our Corporate Partner Network. Mick, Rob, and team truly get what we’re aiming for within our network – bringing local businesses together through networking, shared values, and a deep appreciation for the care our hospice provide to the local community. Their brilliant decorating account initiative is a perfect example of the kind of creative, business support we love to see – helping to raise vital funds for the hospice while promoting their own business expertise and services.” – Carey Bavington The Hospice of St Francis Corporate Partnerships”

Swing Gate School

Swing Gate Infant School and Nursery launched the fundraiser after its old playground was deemed unsafe by health and safety.

The Friends of Swing Gate School (FoSG) have helped to raise more than £10,000 in under two months to install a new adventure trail.

The overall cost was £25,000, but with the school budget stretched, the help of the community and businesses locally and even abroad helped to raise the necessary funds.

“We have been delighted and overwhelmed by the fantastic support from our school community, especially the FoSG in their phenomenal efforts in raising the funds needed in such a short space of time. Thank you to local businesses, and beyond, for their incredibly generous donations. Our children will greatly benefit from the new adventure playground"

Bridgewater School

Bridgewater Primary School is delighted to announce plans to completely transform the ‘caretaker’s bungalow’. We’d like to thank the local community again, for supporting us to ensure that our children and future children benefit from the opportunity to utilise the front of the school grounds. Overall plans for the area at the front of school are to knock down the existing building and Build a new sustainable multipurpose centre (The Haven at Bridgewater).

To make this a reality we needed to raise a huge sum through grant applications and fundraising - £165,000. The school has raised over £144,000 and we have also been supported with donations, including paint supplies from Dacorum Decorating, for which we are really grateful.

The Haven will be used for much needed special education and disability (SEND) rooms for 1:1 teaching and quiet spaces. It will also be an additional space for use by Rialize, to extend their wraparound childcare, which almost half of our children access. Aside from these school needs, The Haven has other possibilities for multi-use across the school and beyond and will be available to hire in the evenings and weekends, for community use.  All children at the school will benefit from the building in their time at Bridgewater.  The space will include a classroom sized room, two meeting rooms and toilet facilities.

Thanks again,

Helen
